ALL THE BEST IN YOUR EXAMS!!!

Ten Tips – Exam techniques

Tests and exams are a regular part of the school environment. It is important that exams be kept in proportion – they are important, but not the end of the world. Some things can be done to make exams a more valuable, worthwhile and less threatening experience for students.
1. Have all necessary material with you.You can’t borrow items such as pens, pencils, rulers or special equipment while in an examination.

2. Have a relaxing night before your exams. Have an early night, and try to have a healthy breakfast.

3. Read the entire paper. Where you have choices, decide which ones you plan to answer.
4. Plan your time. Spend some time drafting a plan for the questions you choose to answer.

5. Jot down ideas as they come to you.
While you are answering one question, information about another may suddenly occur to you. Jot it down somewhere because when you come to that question perhaps an hour later, you may have forgotten it.
6. Don’t leave any questions unanswered. If you are short of time, use note form. Remember, you can only be marked on the answers you give.
7. Never leave the room early. If you have time at the end, go over your work, add information (eg. in the margin). You can’t return if you suddenly remember a fact after you have left.

8. Do not spend too long on multiple choice questions. With multiple choice questions it is best to cover the answers and work out your own before looking at the choices on paper. If you can’t answer the question come back  to it later – have a guess.
9. Never omit an entire question. No matter how well you answer other questions, you must leave time for all questions – a perfect answer can still only earn a certain number of marks. If you write nothing, you can’t receive any marks and you have lost all your marks for a particular question. Write something – it may at least give you a few points.
10. Maintain a stable energy level. Eating foods such as chocolate bars before an exam might give you an energy boost to begin with but your blood sugar levels will drop within an hour and your energy will plunge dramatically, making it hard for you to concentrate.

Special Thanks to WAPEC Inc Members

UWA SPRING FEAST 09

Alhamdullillah, we were able to do one of our annual fundraising activities last Thursday. Special thanks to Nor Azizul, Valerie, Farid Zarif and Que for their effort of making this fundraising event successful. Here is the report on money we make on that day.

OPEN HOUSE RAYA & DEEPAVALI

Alhamdullillah again. The event went smoothly. WAPEC Inc did a good job in assisting the event preparation. This is first time that all of the clubs and Consulate working together to give the best for the benefit of Malaysian Community in WA. Thanks to Aizad to be such a wonderful MC and Nun for the lovely performance. And also for all WAPEC Inc members who came, thanks a lot for the support.

1 IMPORTANT SURVEYS

The committee has another  idea on the activities WAPEC Inc could do other than Pasar Malam before the end of this semester. However, we are not going to force the members to join or not. Especially most of us now in the critical phase and will be having exam another 3-4 weeks from now. We are doing surveys to see if we got enough support to make the event.

1) Interview Sharing Session. One Petronas executive from Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Group, Mr. Anpalagan Sockalingam for 3 months. He volunteers himself to have a sharing session with the WAPEC members and talking about the Structure Interview. As one of the Petronas staff who had gone through the Structure Interview, I am sure he has lots of experience to share with us. This is a good opportunities especially for the final years who is going to have the interview by end of this year. So what is your say?

Yes or No to this event?

Thank you,

OPEN HOUSE RAYA & DEEPAVALI

deeparaya

Dear Fellow Malaysians,

Hari Raya – Deepavali Open House Celebration

We are happy to inform you that this year’s Family Day will be a Hari Raya – Deepavali Open House celebration jointly organised by Malaysian students in WA and the Consulate General of Malaysia. This event will be held on Saturday, 10 October 2009 from 11.30 to 15.00 hours at the Kardinya Community Centre, Morris Buzacott Reserve Williamson Rd, Kardinya , WA 6163. This event is a continuation of last year’s Family Day held on 22 November 2008.

In line with the 1Malaysia – People First Performance Now concept introduced by our new Prime Minister, the Honourable Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, this event provides a platform for Malaysians and students to meet new/old friends, exchange ideas/news/jokes, enjoy the Malaysian cuisine, hospitality/atmosphere, dancing and performance, all in the spirit of “muhibbah”.

There will be home-cooked food such as nasi minyak, ketupat, beef rendang, lamb korma, vegetarian dalca, mee goreng, murukku, soft drinks, etc. At the same time, adopting the “Aussie” culture we also encourage you to BYO (pot luck) to avoid any short fall of food. We welcome any volunteers and contributions to make this event even more successful and enjoyable.

We hope to see you all during the Hari Raya – Deepavali Open House celebration at Kardinya Community Centre on 10 October 2009 from 11.30 to 15.00 hours. Anyways, the reason for this e-mail is to just inform everyone regarding WAPEC’s annual general meeting. The plans for this AGM has been mentioned in the latest edition of WISDOM (^_^) and the details are as the followings:
Event: WAPEC Annual General Meeting

and happy fasting :)
” Indeed We have revealed it (Quran), in the night of Power. And what will explain to you the night of Power is? The night of Power is better than a thousand months, Therein descends the Angels and the Spirit (Jibreel) by Allah’s permission, on every errand: (they say) “Peace” (continuously) till the rise of Morning!” (Al-Qadr 97:1-5)
